I Get Around

As you might have seen, Apple iPhones have been found to be maintaining a database of contact with cell towers across the full time you've owned the phone.  Using this information you can reconstruct detailed logs of everywhere you've been.  My guess is that someone at Apple decided this information would be useful for some non-malicious use, and didn't quite think through far enough to realize that people might be a tad unhappy about it.  But I really love it!  I hope whatever fix they come up with allows us to continue to be able to get these pretty lifetime graphs.

Here's a map showing that I really get around Kansas City.  I'm really pretty amazed at how thorough my coverage is.

And here's a slightly more detailed view that shows the individual cell tower grid and how I've hit them.

Finally, here's a terrific map of our trip to Virginia last year.
